Amanda May is a 21 year old senior English major at the University of Mary Washington. She plans on taking time off before going to graduate school for creative writing and has hopes of getting into publishing.
Liz Swauger is currently studying English and Secondary Education at the University of Mary Washington. She will graduate in 2010 with a BA in English and a concentration in Creative Writing. While teaching, she desires to instill a passion for writing in a younger generation. Journaling and essaying fills much of her free time, as well as reading the classics. Future plans include teaching English both state-side and abroad.
Emily Frank is a senior English major at the University of Mary Washington. She is also studying education and will graduate with her MA in Elementary Education with a focus in Special Education. Her interests include reading, photography, coffee, and writing. She has written in a journal every night before bed since she was nine and is currently filling up journal number twenty-four. In the summers she teaches rock climbing to Boy Scouts and is looking forward to having her own classroom full of second graders during the school year.
Graduating with a BA in English in May 2008, Clifford is planning on learning the last few ropes of Life before moving to a larger city. He is intrigued at the prospect of beginning training to become a sommelier in the near future. He is also going to continue to write poetry, and maybe one day get it published. If he gets around to it.
Justin Toney is a junior English major seeking a licence from the University of Mary Washington to teach English and journalism at the secondary level. He hopes to graduate with a focus in creative writing. While working on his undergraduate studies, Justin also serves as news editor for the UMW student paper, the Bullet. He recently won first place for General News Writing in the Virginia Press Association’s 2008 college newspaper contest. He has no free time.
